George & Cecilia had two sons, Thomas & George Sparling TRELFORD. Very sadly, the boys' father died on 15 Sep 1894 in Toronto at the age of 28 from pulmonary phthisis (chronic wasting away, a name for tuberculosis). Cecilia also died within two years, in May 1896, perhaps in Arthur, Ontario. That is where she had been born in 1867.

Two of George's sisters, Mary Ann TRELFORD (a.k.a. Minnie TRELFORD, now Mrs. Job PARSON) & Elizabeth TRELFORD (a.k.a. Lizzie TRELFORD, now Mrs. Donald GORDON) raised the orphaned boys in Two Harbors, Minnesota where Job & Donald were railroaders. Later, George Sparling TRELFORD moved with his uncle & aunt to Duluth, Minnesota where he finished out his life.
