Hand-written note on envelope: " . . . we visited them in '(19)47"

Pomona, Calif., Nov. 12, 1947
(page 2) . . . The last four nights a cousin's wife said she was going to stay.
There wasn't much she could but it was a help to know that she was here.
Jim's (sister?) stayed with me about a week afterward but since then I have been alone.
. . . a short time after you were here Jim came out where I was working and said
"The name was Orland CRAIG".
I asked Pearl if she knew the name of her father's brother and she thought it was Orin.
So evidently it wasn't George, as we concluded that day.
It seemed to flash through Jim's mind when he wasn't trying to think of it.
(page 3) . . . I hope you both and your family are well, and I would enjoy hearing from you.
Love, Mabel.
